The Australian government must unequivocally support Israel’s pre-emptive strike on the Iranian regime, which stands guilty of very many horrific crimes against humanity over many decades. These include:
- Political repression, abductions, and mass executions including of minors and pregnant women;
- widespread use of torture, including beatings, electric shocks, mock executions, sexual violence, flogging, amputations, and stoning;
- crackdowns on protests resulting in hundreds of deaths, mass arrests, and torture and rape in custody; and
- persecution of Baháʼís, Kurds, Baluchis, and others including executions, repression, arbitrary arrests, denial of education and employment, and destruction of cemeteries.
The Iranian regime has cultivated a vast network of terrorist proxies across the Middle East and around the world, providing them with funding, weapons, training, and political support. These include:
- Hezbollah (Lebanon), which receives up to $700 million annually and serves as both a terrorist militia and a Lebanese political party;
- Hamas & Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Gaza), which has attacked Israeli civilians for decades and perpetrated the barbaric genocidal attack on 7 October 2023;
- Houthis (Yemen), which launched missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia and Red Sea shipping;
- Iraqi Militias like Kataib Hezbollah and Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba, which have targeted U.S. forces and entrenched Iranian-regime influence in Iraq and Syria.
The regime has also increasingly relied on transnational organized crime to fund its operations and circumvent sanctions including:
- oil smuggling and money laundering;
- drug trafficking; and
- assassinations and abductions of dissidents, journalists, and Jewish or Israeli figures.
The regime, until recently, had the largest stockpile of ballistic missiles in the region, with a range of technologies enabling attacks up to 2,000km away.
And now, recent reports indicate that Iran is on the brink of having the capability to develop nuclear weapons, having significantly increased its stockpile of enriched uranium to 9.2 tonnes, far beyond the 202.8 kg limit set by the 2015 nuclear deal.
This criminal regime could produce enough fissile material for a nuclear weapon in a matter of days.
“…Persia is rich, spans millennia, and is marked by significant innovations and achievements…”
So, the decision of Israel to conduct a pre-emptive strike, to defeat the existential threat of the Islamic Republic of Iran, its nuclear weapons program, and its use of missiles and terrorist proxies, is fully justified.
Australia should commend and unconditionally support Israel in the conduct of this pre-emptive strike against the Iranian Regime.
The regime has proclaimed its intention to eliminate the State of Israel and the United States of America since it seized power in 1979, and there’s no doubt that it is the mortal enemy of similar free nations like Australia.
Israel, The USA and allies have acted upon accurate intelligence which confirmed the regime’s imminent completion of a nuclear capability to realise its existential threats against Israel and the free world.
The Israel Defence Forces have demonstrated their ability to attack military targets while minimising collateral damage to non-combatants, in stark contrast to the Iranian regime’s criminal and indiscriminate use of heavy weapons, including ballistic missiles with cluster warheads against civilian targets.
We call on our Australian Government to recognise Israel’s morality in the face of evil barbarism and that it became necessary to act to protect Israel, and to stabilise the region and the world, by eliminating the threat of nuclear destruction by a genocidal, hegemonic and unstable regime.
The history of Persia is rich, spans millennia, and is marked by significant innovations and achievements in culture, science, and governance. We look forward to that nation throwing off the shackles of its barbaric and repressive regime, so that the Persian people can enjoy freedom and productivity.
