Israel: Understanding the Times — Past, Present & Future
The world is watching Israel. Day after day, the headlines remind us that this small nation sits at the centre of global attention. War and conflict, rising antisemitism, growing hostility towards the Jewish people, and mounting speculation about the end times have led many to ask: What is happening? What does the Bible say? Are we witnessing the unfolding of biblical prophecy?
In times like these, we need more than opinion or sensational prediction—we need the wisdom of God’s Word. Scripture reveals God’s unfolding plan for Israel and the nations, a plan that spans history, explains the present and points us confidently to the future. For followers of Yeshua, understanding God’s prophetic purposes is not about satisfying curiosity but about recognising the times, growing in faith and walking faithfully with our Messiah until He returns.
This November, believers from across Australia will gather at the Belgrave Heights Convention Centre for Simcha 2026, Celebrate Messiah’s annual national Messianic conference, as we explore this timely theme. Simcha is the Hebrew word for ‘a joyous occasion’, and this much-loved weekend is exactly that: a joyful celebration of Yeshua the Messiah and the faithfulness of our God.
Together we will explore the Bible’s unfolding story of Israel—from God’s covenant promises in the past, to His purposes for Israel in the present, and the prophetic hope that lies ahead. Through careful, Bible-centred teaching from a distinctly Messianic Jewish perspective, we will examine what God has revealed about the last days, how current events relate to His redemptive purposes, and why Israel remains central to His unfolding plan.
The conference begins on Friday evening with a joyous Shabbat dinner, bringing together Jewish and Gentile believers in worship, prayer and fellowship. Throughout Saturday and Sunday, guests will take part in inspiring main sessions, practical workshops and uplifting times of worship, deepening their relationship with Yeshua and their understanding of the Bible in its Jewish context.
Simcha 2026 features respected international and Australian speakers with extensive experience in Jewish ministry, biblical teaching and Messianic congregational leadership.

International guest speaker David Trubek is Executive Director of Chosen People Ministries Japan. After serving in the Israel Defence Forces, David spent over a decade in evangelism and congregational ministry at Tiferet Yeshua Messianic Congregation in Tel Aviv, before establishing Chosen People Ministries Japan in 2022 with his wife, Victoria, including a Jewish outreach centre and Beit Samurai guesthouse in Tokyo.
Mitch Forman, Vice President of US Ministries for Chosen People Ministries, joins us from the United States. A Jewish believer in Jesus since 1987, Mitch has served in Jewish ministry across the US and now oversees the training and leadership of the ministry’s missionary staff nationwide.
Local speakers include Lawrence Hirsch, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Celebrate Messiah Australia and Messianic Rabbi of Beit HaMashiach in Melbourne, serving the Messiah among Jewish people since 1990 across Australia, Israel, New Zealand, Russia and South Africa; and Paul Cohen, who founded and led Celebrate Messiah’s Sydney congregation for ten years and now lectures in biblical theology and Jewish studies as lead instructor at Celebrate Messiah’s Messianic Training Centre.
Simcha is designed for the whole family. Children enjoy engaging, age-appropriate programmes, while students in Years 7–12 take part in a dedicated youth programme, including a special off-site day of outdoor activities on Saturday, 28 November.
