Dear friends,
I encourage you to read our October–November edition of Israel & Christians Today. It is full of interesting and topical articles, reports and updates to keep you informed and inspired, so you can pray and advocate for Israel and our Jewish brothers and sisters in these uncertain and challenging times.
As we continue our plan to reach and inspire more fellow believers to pray for and comfort the Lord’s brethren, our Jewish brothers and sisters, and to stand in solidarity with the land and people of Israel, I encourage you to order extra copies to share with family, friends, work colleagues and your church, or simply show them how to subscribe for their own free copy. Details are on the back page and at c4israel.com.au/subscribe
Look out for my article based on one of the lectures I presented at the recent Christians for Israel Asia Family Conference in the Philippines: Antisemitism in Our Time and the Heart of God. It traces what the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob says about Israel, and unpacks the truth that Israel is God’s firstborn son. From there I challenged delegates: if this is who Israel is to God, how should we love who God loves? You can read it on page 13, and I would love to know your thoughts. I will write the second article, on Modern Zionism and the Role of the Church, in our December edition.
Volunteers Needed: Work From Home
We are still looking for a couple of volunteers to work from home taking phone calls and enquiries for the ministry. Full training is provided, along with a dedicated ministry phone. If this sounds like you, please send your interest and CV to info@c4israel.com.au and we will send you the position description and further details.
Please Support Our Current Project: Healing for Israel’s Youth in the North
We have had a good start with our new Youth Resilience Initiative, and we are asking for your prayerful and generous support for this urgent need: The plight of thousands of young Israelis, particularly in the north, still carrying the weight of post-war trauma and PTSD.
Through UIA Australia’s Rebuilding Israel Fund, new Youth Resilience Centres are being established to give displaced and traumatised youth in northern Israel safe spaces to heal. These centres provide emotional therapies, creative and multimedia equipment, structured sport and leadership development, helping teenagers process the anxiety, disrupted routines and lingering fear caused by prolonged rocket fire and mass evacuations. Programmes include therapeutic and recreational spaces, leadership opportunities where teens mentor younger children, and integrated art, sport, volunteering and social action projects. All donations are tax deductible, and together we can bring real comfort and unconditional love, expressing the very heart of the Father we serve.

We encourage every reader to prayerfully consider putting their family’s affairs in order, and to make a lasting legacy of hope for our ministry.

As the sages say, if you listen carefully, you can hear the footsteps of the Messiah drawing close, even at the door.
We will walk in the footsteps of Abraham, the prophets, Jesus and the apostles in the land of the Bible, with an amazing extension to Greece, where the Gospel was first taken into Europe and Asia. Stand in the very locations where the stories of the Bible took place, and experience the land of promise for yourself. For more details, contact Olive Tree Travel on 1300 550 830. We look forward to seeing you in Jerusalem next year.
A Final Word
This has been a particularly difficult year for our Jewish friends and our communities here and in Israel. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East, and the continued rise in antisemitism among political leaders and mainstream media, remains deeply troubling. Even parts of the Church have sided with those who claim Israel has been replaced, forgetting God’s irrevocable promises to His chosen people in Romans 9, 10 & 11, and Jeremiah 31:35–37.
Recent boycotts and trade sanctions against Israel by the UK, Canada and Europe, with rumblings even from our own government, are cause for real concern. Scripture already tells us this: Zechariah 14 speaks of a time when all the nations of the world will turn against Israel. But we are called to be different, to remain faithful, to not be silent, and to bring comfort, practical support and unconditional love to our elder brother, Israel.
As the sages say, if you listen carefully, you can hear the footsteps of the Messiah drawing close, even at the door. This captures a profound concept in Jewish tradition known as Ikvetah d’Meshicha, ‘the footsteps of the Messiah’: in the final generation before redemption, when His presence is so imminent that those with spiritual sensitivity can almost hear His arrival.
Selah. I encourage us all to pause, and think deeply on this.
Thank you, as always, for standing with us in prayer, in giving, and in love for God’s people, Israel. Details of how to support our various projects are on the back page and at c4israel.com.au/donate
God bless you as you prayerfully and generously give and support this work. As Jesus taught in Matthew 25, whatever we do for the least of these, His brethren, we do for Him.
