Dear Mr Albanese,
I strongly urge you and your party to re-think your decision to recognise a Palestinian state. I understand that the alarming pictures on our TV screens, moves by Israel to expand the war and the pressure of 90,000 people marching on the Sydney Harbour bridge have caused you to expedite this move but I believe it ill-founded for both the Middle East and our own country.
1. Know history: After WWI the former Ottoman Empire was divided and the British were given the mandate over Palestine. The San Remo resolution ratified in 1922 by the League of Nations (including the Arab countries), agreed to the establishment of a Jewish homeland west of the Jordan river. 23% of the territory of Palestine was allotted to the Jews and 77% of Palestine was given to the Arabs. This became the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 1946. Therefore, there is already a Palestinian State. It is now called Jordan. Many ANZAC lives were sacrificed to bring this about. Please consider this and let their blood not be shed in vain.
2. Know the truth: As you acknowledge, Hamas is a terrorist organisation. Our daily news is now relaying horrific scenes of war and destruction, most recently of gravely undernourished children. Our media, especially the tax-payer funded ABC, publicise without question, information provided by the Gaza Health Ministry (which is Hamas). Independent journalist, David Collier, revealed that the five-year-old, Osama al-Raqab, suffers from Cystic Fibrosis, a severe genetic illness causing his skinny appearance. In fact, Israel facilitated his travel to Italy recently for treatment and new pictures on the web show he is looking much better. Medical records show eighteen-month-old Mohammed al-Matouq, suffers from cerebral palsy, hypoxia and a serious genetic disorder. Note his mother and three-year-old brother (cropped out in most photos) were not malnourished. German media also claim the photos of starving masses holding pots were again staged. The ABC and other channels need to apologise and be held to account. Our nation’s foreign policy should not be based on misinformation and Hamas propaganda.
“Recognising a Palestinian state unilaterally is rewarding terrorism, delighting Hamas, playing into their hands and has caused them to withdraw from any negotiations.”
3. Know Islam: Islam is a religion that governs as a dictatorship, controlling all aspects of life. It means ‘submission’ and does not tolerate freedom of ideas or minority groups. Everyone either submits, leaves (if possible) or is killed. It expands by jihad – taking land then forcibly imposing its dominance over all ‘infidels’. It cannot accept an ‘infidel’ nation, Israel, claiming territory that once was under domination by Islam, as this means that another God is stronger than Allah and therefore jihad is an obligation for its strict followers to ‘save face’. Peace has never come to Israel by ceding land and will never be attained by nations joining this ideology. Additionally, the Islamic doctrine of ‘taqqiya’ allows for the practice of lying to further the cause of Islam, so what is said cannot be taken at face value.
4. Know the Palestinian Authority and President Abbas: The Palestinian Authority incites and glorifies violence, continues to support terrorism, including its ‘pay to slay’ policy, and has pursued Israel through the International Criminal Court and International Court of Justice rather than seeking direct negotiations. It has the same end goal of eliminating Israel ‘from the river to the sea’. President Mahmoud Abbas wrote his thesis on the Holocaust being a Jewish fabrication and has now ‘promised’ to recognise Israel, which he has never done. It is unrealistic to think he can rule the Palestinian people and bring peace in the region.
5. Know the Bible: Judea and Samaria are the biblical heartland for the Jewish people. Dividing God’s land and taking away the mountains of Israel brings judgement to the nations that pursue this and is in violation of the San Remo agreement which has never been rescinded. Indigenous peoples the world over are fighting for their land to be returned but Israel is expected to give up their ancient homeland to those who vow to destroy her??
For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land. Joel 3:1-2
Since you have said, ‘These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them,’ although the LORD was there, therefore as I live, declares the Lord GOD, “I will deal with you according to your anger and according to your envy which you displayed because of your hatred for them; so I will make Myself known among them when I judge you…And you have spoken arrogantly against Me…I Myself have heard it…This is what the Lord GOD says:…“As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be a desolation…Then they will know that I am the LORD.” Ezekiel 35:10-15
6. Know where the money has gone: Billions of dollars of international aid has been channelled into Gaza to help the ‘refugees’ who have been held as political pawns by their government. Much of this has gone to build tunnels and missiles instead of houses and infrastructure for the people. Where is the accountability? Even much of the food sent in is being hijacked by Hamas or left to rot rather than picked up and distributed. The war could finish tomorrow if Hamas would care for their own people instead of using them as human shields, disarm and return the hostages. But they prefer to let their people suffer.
7. Know your folly: What is your plan to dismantle Hamas? Do you really think that Hamas will suddenly stop fighting and hand over their weapons to the PA which it forced from Gaza in 2006? Recognising a Palestinian state unilaterally is rewarding terrorism, delighting Hamas, playing into their hands and has caused them to withdraw from any negotiations. This is risking the lives of the truly starving hostages and prolonging the war.
If you want to see an end to this conflict, pressure Hamas instead of Israel and set the Palestinian people free. Then re-educate the masses who have been indoctrinated with hatred for Israel and taught jihad for nearly two decades.
Please reconsider your decision and base your policies on truth not the emotionally-charged images and false allegations that Hamas is churning out to the world in order to turn the nations against Israel. This strategy is being highly successful and will continue unless their claims are questioned and properly investigated. Israel is not perfect, people are suffering, but Israel is losing the psychological war to nations that choose to believe a terrorist entity over a democracy.
With the shocking revelations now of Iran masterminding anti-Semitic attacks in Australia using proxies, the only honourable recourse is to withdraw Australia from supporting a Palestinian state. Hamas in Gaza is simply another proxy of Iran, aiming to kill Jews.
Let us not allow anti-Semitism and the demonisation of Israel that is spreading like wildfire across the globe, destroy our great nation. Let Australia be one that is blessed and stands for truth (Genesis 12:3).
Thank you,
JILL CURRY
