While the UN General Assembly debates the International Court of Justice’s Advisory Opinion on Israel’s alleged illegal occupation of Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, over 300 Christians and Jews gather in New York for the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast. They join in prayer, asking God to open the eyes of UN members and halt the dangerous plans to condemn Israel. They also pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Watch the interview with Rev. Cornelis Kant for more insight.
Christians
Persevere in Prayer and Support for Israel
In the Bible we see that people pray for guidance in the Old and the New Testament. When we read this we understand the importance of prayer and why we need to pray in our daily life. Especially now that Israel is under huge pressure. As a supporter of the Jewish people you can feel alone and discouraged by everything that is happing in the world, but we as Christians can cling to the Word of God and to our daily interaction with Him in prayer.
Urgent Implications of the UNGA Vote on Israel: What Christians Need to Know
On July 19 the International Court of Justice (ICJ) published its advisory opinion about the so called “occupied Palestinian territory incl. East Jerusalem”. This opinion is heading to the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting in September 2024. The nations will vote on the advisory opinion. This could lead to sanctions and further ostracizing of Israel and major implications for Christians around the world supporting Israel.
In this interview Andrew Tucker who is the founder of thinc. specializing in lawfare will explain the urgency of the UNGA meeting in September.
We stand with Israel
As Christians, we need to stand with Israel. C4I affiliates around the world have joined rallies and meetings to express their support for Israel.
Keep praying for Israel, the church and the nations:
– Pray that the love for Israel will grow in your country.
– Pray that those who support Israel will share their thoughts and feelings about the situation.
– Pray that those who speak out for Israel will not fear criticism or threats.
– Pray for churches to speak the truth.
Rev. Oscar Lohuis – Israel needs our support
On 7 October 2023, Hamas massacred 1,400 innocent Israeli civilians and soldiers and took over 200 Israelis hostage, leaving Israel no other option than to declare war and strike back.
Worldwide, the media condemn Israel for its ‘disproportionate’ response in bombing Hamas’ targets in the Gaza Strip. The Bible says Christians should turn the other cheek to their enemy. Does this Scripture apply to this war as well? And how can you stay focused in these difficult times on the hopeful future that God promises?
Rev. Oscar Lohuis explains the background of current events, and gives guidance on intercessory prayer for Israel.
The Land, the People and the Scriptures of Israel
Why does Israel matter to Christians? A Gentile Christian living in the Peloponnesian Greek city of Corinth 1,950 years ago would have replied, “I abandoned my gods to worship the God of Israel.
