Food Parcels

Doubling the Impact: Urgent Food Relief in Ukraine

We set out to deliver 13,000 emergency food parcels in Ukraine. But the need has surged—and now, we’re doubling our goal to 26,000 parcels.
Missile and drone attacks have intensified, with up to 700 strikes in a single night. People in Ukraine are exhausted. Our teams pack and deliver food parcels, also in cities hit by drones.

Each € 15 parcel brings more than food—it delivers hope and shows someone cares. Last week in Odessa, 130 Holocaust survivors and refugees received such a parcel. One of the Holocaust survivors shared with us: “I can still feel your warmth and embrace.”

Your help can double the impact. Will you stand with the Jewish community in Ukraine today?

‘God had called us to serve the Jewish people’

“The current war in Ukraine has lasted longer than World War II.” This is what people say in Ukraine. While it may seem surprising to some, much of Eastern Ukraine was liberated by the Red Army by the end of 1943.

Today, in 2024, the war but also our work in Ukraine continues. We deliver food parcels, provide Meals on Wheels, and assist those making Aliyah to Israel. But it is more than just basic needs; the social connection is essential. For most Jewish people in Ukraine, there is no one left to turn to, and people need our support.

Anemone Rüger (C4I’s Project Coordinator in Ukraine) shares her experiences visiting people in Ukraine with the team, providing help and bringing comfort. She also shares about our new project in Moldova, which was recently started.

Update Ukraine: A conversation with Koen Carlier

The war in Ukraine has been raging for two years. How does this affect the work of Christians for Israel in Ukraine. We discuss the uncertainties that the raging war brings with Koen Carlier, Aliyah Field Worker of Christians for Israel. Our mission in Ukraine goes beyond providing comfort to the Jewish people; we assist them in a practical way. This includes supporting soup kitchens, distributing food parcels to Jewish elderly and Holocaust survivors, and facilitating Aliyah (the immigration of people to Israel).

Food parcel Update Ukraine

In recent weeks we handed out food parcels mainly in the East and South East of Ukraine. Our goal is not only to bring comfort, but also practical help, like supporting soup kitchens, helping with making aliyah, and packing and handing out food parcels. People sometimes line up hours in advance, afraid  that there will not be enough, especially elderly who have endured the Soviet Union.

We hope to be able to distribute food parcels soon towards cities near the war zone, while it is still possible. Think of Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Nikolayev, Chernihiv and then back to Kharkov, Odessa… In the coming months over 10,000 food parcels will be needed. Will you help while it is still possible? One food parcel costs 15 euros. Any amount is welcome!
