The Silent Struggle – The Mental Toll of Saving Lives

In this interview, Marnix van Ede, Director of International Relations of ZAKA Search & Rescue, highlights the vital work of ZAKA and the urgent need for mental health support for its volunteers, who endure unimaginable trauma.

Despite witnessing harrowing tragedies, ZAKA volunteers lack access to comprehensive PTSD support, as the government of Israel has a limited budget and so many people need psychological help. There is an urgent need to provide these civilian heroes with the care they deserve.
