Shadi Khalloul: ‘Israel is not an apartheid state. They can come visit me!’

In Deuteronomy, Abraham is referred to as a wandering Aramean. Portions of the Old Testament are written in Aramaic, the language spoken by the common people of Galilee. Jesus himself spoke Aramaic. To this day, Arameans continue to live in the Middle East, including in Israel, where they form a small minority.

There is often talk of minorities in Israel facing discrimination or even apartheid. How do the Arameans experience this? Joining us in the studio is Shadi Khalloul, an Aramean Christian from Israel’s oldest Christian community. He is dedicated to building bridges between Christians and Jews.

Persevere in Prayer and Support for Israel

In the Bible we see that people pray for guidance in the Old and the New Testament. When we read this we understand the importance of prayer and why we need to pray in our daily life. Especially now that Israel is under huge pressure. As a supporter of the Jewish people you can feel alone and discouraged by everything that is happing in the world, but we as Christians can cling to the Word of God and to our daily interaction with Him in prayer.
