Our Bible is a big book. It starts in the first two chapters describing the account of God creating the world and then creating the first man and woman and putting them in the Garden.
…On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. (Matt. 16:18) Am I the only one confused by this saying of Jesus? Hades is commonly understood to refer to Hell, but why would its gates be fighting against the Church?
