Focus on the Future Vol. 3 (9)

The Bible is a wonderful book! It speaks about to future too, so we focus on the future. It is a shame that the Book of Revelation has remained such a closed Book throughout world history. Even today, Pastors don’t preach from the Book of Revelation, maybe only the first three chapters, but that’s it. There are many sects who have all kinds of eschatological science fiction like theories.

They take a verse here and a verse there, but no! You should read the book verse by verse, the Book of Revelation. When you do just that, you read in Rev. 13 that a beast is coming out of the sea. Who or what is this beast? What is this sea? What does it mean? In the Book of Daniel you read about the same beasts. Daniel also speaks of a statue. It is the dream of king Nebuchadnezzar. What do they symbolize? How could the king in the Book of Esther avoid that all Jews had to be killed, including his wife and queen Esther?

All the ancient empires of the Babylonians, the Medes and the Persians, the Greeks, the Romains all had the same characteristics. But in the end, in the final beast to come they are all back again. An absolute dictator, iron laws, great civilization, military might as the Romans had. An empire in the name of men. How will it end? Rev Willem Glashouwer discusses all these things in this week’s episode (9) of the new series (3) of Focus on the Future.
